Around the What? And The Great Foggy Day are the first two
of Karen Silver’s stories set in and revolving around Newfoundland and Labrador’s
culture, history, weather, language, and geography. The set of stories and
those that will follow aim to teach children – not only those born in, residing
in, or having connections to Newfoundland and Labrador but from all over-just
how special our province is.
Around the What? Focuses on the geographical aspects of St.
John’s and how it compares to other cities in Canada, The Great Foggy Day
explores the often unpredictable weather patterns of Newfoundland and Labrador
and how they too differ from other geographical regions; both in a way that children
can not only understand but also relate to.
