Tom Badcock is a retired air force officer who was the base controller at Canadian Forces Base Gander at the time of the Arrow Air Crash in 1985. That tragedy inspired him to write 'A Broken Arrow", his account of the disaster that claimed 256 lives. Tom was born in Carbonear and currently lives in St John's where he is Executive Director of The HUB. Every death at sea is a different death at sea and there will never be a situation where we get used to it. There will never be a time or an occasion when we lose a person to the sea and we will get used to it. God help us if we do. In our 500-year history, each death was as painful to the people who were left behind, as will be the next. All profits made by DRC Publishing on this book will be donated to the families of those lost at Cougar Flight 491.
