Milton Layte has often wondered if it’s better to be a jack
of all trades or a master of one. He says he considers himself to be a jack of
all trades and , most importantly, a husband and father.
He went to work as a logger at age sixteen, and went on to
excel in trades that included heavy equipment operator, tractor trailer
operator and mechanic.
A man of great ambition with burning desire to succeed, he
progressed rapidly as an entrepreneur, becoming owner of part owner of a pulpwood
harvesting operation, an apartment building, a shopping mall, and, eventually,
a Honda dealership in Gander and two Hyundai dealerships, one in Gander, where
he still lives, the other in Grand Falls – Windsor.
Milton’s story, that of a man who pulled himself up by his
bootstraps and became a successful entrepreneur, makes for a heck of a good
read.
