stirring of Grenfell’s many books and articles – including in its entirety his
classic Adrift on an Ice Pan, which details his horrifying ordeal at sea. It is
a sampling that provides, in Grenfell’s own words, a cross-section of the man’s
thoughts, activities, encounters and stories.
